A story of love and family will always be interesting. “That Old Cape Magic” is a book that tells you a lot about a middle-aged man that has problem with his parents, family and life. The man’s name is Griffin, and he married a woman named Joy. They married thirty years ago. Now, he and his wife are coming back to the Cape to celebrate his daughter’s wedding. Cape is the place where Griffin and his wife had honeymoon.
Griffin was actually a writer in Los Angeles. However, he left that profession. He moved to London and now he is teaching at New England College. He moved there with his family and has an old house to live in. For Griffin, coming back to the Cape is just like back to the past. This is a place where he built a dream for their life. His parents have a fail marriage. Griffin has been driving with his father’s ashes in the trunk, but his mother keeps contacting him even now she is in Cape.
A year later, his daughter married. This is an important wedding in Griffin’s life. However, he is driving around with two urns of ashes. This is the day where his life starts unravel. This novel is an amazing family novel that everyone can learn from. The moments in someone’s life are written in a great way that impresses the readers.
