Get an agent. (use writer's market) Get a literary agent to pitch it for you. The writer's job is to write, unless you're ALSO a salesman. *shrug*
If you get an agent, they know people, publishers, and "the system" and can get it published for you. They do all the leg-work & all you have to do is write.
(Note: Agents will NEVER charge you anything but commission, if they try to make you buy things, like a critique or editing services, etc then they are trying to scam you)
Song??
Whats the song?
I would go with self-publishing. Even despite your "credentials", you still wouldn't be attractive enough for the mainstream to publish your memoir.
Believe me, some of what you've done; I'm going through myself. And even with that, I'm still getting *ignored* by the publishing world. (Me being a nobody and all.)
The stigma of self-publishing is simply because there were a lot of bad "apples" in the POD arena which made self-publishing appear to be nothing more than "vanity-press".
If you haven't already been attacked for making the subtle suggestion of even *wanting* to be self-published…? Don't worry: You will be soon.
But if your small literary press is flexible enough, then I would publish your memoir under your own imprint.
In my book, it's better than being published by a vanity-press outfit like Publish America or someone along those lines.
But you need more on your resume, than just trying to be be published by another publisher. You need SALES. Not just a small amount, but a *huge* amount that will make either the agent or publisher see you as a worthwhile investment.
Because in the publishing mainstream, money talks and well…you know the rest of the phrase. :0)
As I am a White nationalist, I am familiar with the way a book will sometimes be bought so that it won't ever be published. When Dr. Pierce wrote "The Turner Diaries," he didn't use a publisher, only a printing company. But he had the money to spend getting thousands of copies made. You probably ought to get sponsors, or a bank loan, except that I don't recommend anyone go into debt right before the FedJews yank the credit carpet out from under everybody.
Yeah! But how is he a faggot?
it dosent say farmville feed
From the nature of your question, it sounds like you may be from Canada, so the following may not apply and if so, be warry of U.S. based answers.
First I think you can have a very nice professional book without having to a company name. This will come more from the cover design, etc. When you go to a bookstore, do you really look closely at who the publisher is?
In the U.S. if you use a name other than your own, you may have to file a fictitious name.
I'm a romance author, so I'm afraid I don't know much about your genre. But you would probably do well to join Mystery Writers of America, a well-known professional organization for published and aspiring mystery authors. I'm sure that just like Romance Writers of America, they have publications and message boards that you will find very helpful.

You need to make up a name for "your" publishing company. Call it —– Press. Name it after someone, a pet, your mother, anyone you want to honor, and put the word Press after it.
thx i got a clumsy reindeer
when it said tucker did it mean tucker harris?
Dorrance Publishing is a subsidy publisher. And was mentioned in an "I Love Lucy" episode, just a little cool fact.
And AuthorHouse.

Texas is the only State to try to make this argument.
They fought Nolo over it for two years, and eventually dropped the case.
